Hello! My name is James and I am a thirty-something year old software engineer, leader, writer, shetland pony breeder and course creator. Oh yes, and fiercely introverted (hence the name of this blog).

The Quiet Engineer is an outlet to share lessons I am learning as I stumble through life. Here, you will find a collection of writing about engineering, leadership, introversion, digital minimalism, tools for thought as well as life in general.

I haven’t taken a straight path in life. From construction worker, to pony breeder, to software engineer - I am figuring it all out as I trundle my way through and writing is a way to make sense of the world as it happens to me. My aim is to write to share some of the hardest learned lessons with yourselves.

Thank you all so much for being here.

See you, friends.

James ✌️
